El Bueno Coffee Roasters The Weekend Espresso / 500g is a 100% Arabica specialty coffee blend combining coffee from Gungegiri Estate in Chikmagalur, Karnataka, India with coffee from Colombia. Gungegiri Estate is the specific Indian producer/farm; Karnataka is the broader region where the estate is located.
The blend uses natural and washed coffees from mixed varieties. El Bueno lists the overall blend altitude at 1,2001,650 MASL, while its Gungegiri Estate page places the estate itself at approximately 1,2001,450 metres. The flavour profile features dark chocolate, roasted nuts and caramel with ripe berry or stone-fruit nuances such as cherry or plum.
This 500g option is ground for Espresso. El Bueno's official Espresso starting recipe uses 15g (1.5 tablespoons) of coffee, a target yield of 30g, a 1:2 coffee-to-water ratio, 94C brewing temperature and a target time of 3035 seconds.
